Richmond VA Real Estate Market Update 2013

Richmond VA Real Estate Market Update 2013 Last year was an amazing time for real estate in many cities across the United States. Richmond, Virginia saw tremendous growth from the previous year, resulting in sellers receiving top dollar for their properties and buyers taking advantage of historically low interest rates giving them a big bang for their buck. As your Richmond VA real estate agent, I present to you your Richmond VA real estate market update for 2013: Number of Homes Sold: 2,198 Average List Price: $234,116 Average Sold Price: $227,383 Average Days on Market: 51 Now, let's compare that to 2012: Number of Homes Sold: 1,928 Average List Price: $218,339 Average Sold Price: $209,454 Average Days on Market: 65 *All information is from the CVRMLS and is considered reliable but not guaranteed. The Richmond VA real estate market saw an increase of 14% in the amount of homes sold, an increase of 7% in the average list price, an increase of almost 9% in the average SOLD price, and a reduction of days on market by 21%! As you can see, 2013 was really the year of growth in the Richmond VA real estate market! With the lack of inventory thus far in 2014 and an abundance of buyers, I believe we will see continued growth at a more modest rate.
